Trying to conceive is hard. You don't have to lose each other in the process.
You’re carrying different hopes, fears and you don’t know how to show up for each other or ask for what you need.
Trying to conceive and going through fertility treatments puts a strain on your body, mind and relationship. You may feel like your partnership has taken a back seat, that intimacy is scheduled and not fun anymore or that you feel alone in this.
Couples therapy gives you space to slow down, understand each other, and learn practical relationship skills to help you navigate this season as a team. Together, we'll work on communication, emotional support, intimacy, and navigating difficult conversations so you can feel more connected, less alone, and better equipped to face whatever comes next.
Support for Couples Trying to Grow Their Family
I know what it is like to download the cycle-tracking app, cut gluten and dairy, get acupuncture, cross your fingers and then feel a little sick when you go to buy that pregnancy test…hoping beyond hope that this is the month that those two pink lines show up.
My husband and I were happily surprised when we became pregnant with our daughter and thought it would be an easy time for us when we wanted to have another baby. It was not.
We tried for the better part of a year to get pregnant and then went in for testing. The results showed that our daughter was a miracle and IVF would be the best path for us to grow our family.
I remember feeling all the feelings. Upset at myself I had waited so long to get tested. Feeling like it was unfair that we couldn’t conceive naturally. Relieved that there was at least a path forward. Scared about what the process would involve and how many needles.
Fast forward three years and we have since had two beautiful boys this way. But I know what its like to live in that season of uncertainty and how much you need your partner to show up for you during every stage of it.
That’s why I believe in teaching the skills you’ll both need to be able to talk and actually hear each other through this, so you both get the support you need and deserve in this tender time.
